Tourouzelle is a small Minervois village whose history is easier to read in its land than in one great monument. Vines cover the ground around the town and have long shaped local work. Parts of the old defensive wall survive, including a gateway, along with medieval church fabric and a ruined chapel in the cemetery. The village never became a large trade centre; its story stayed tied to local farming and the nearby wine country.
